If you are the author, and don't want this behavior, you need to correct the file, and possibly directory access permissions. This can be done by telneting and logging onto slate.mines.edu. To correct the access problem, use the following commands:

chmod a+r /csminfo/htdocs/academic/affairs/xprtgd.html

(CGI's will require a minor variant of this command). If the filename is not explicitly defined, you will need to add index.shtml, index.html, or index.htm as appropriate. If access permissions for this file are a problem, it is likely other files in the directory are also incorrectly defined. Check and correct those files too.
